At KAARGAH, we are committed to fostering sustainable development and enhancing economic opportunities through targeted support to startups, SMEs, women entrepreneurs, and export-oriented businesses. Each initiative is designed not just to meet immediate needs, but to build lasting growth and development across various sectors and communities. Explore some of our projects to see how we’re making a difference, driving change, and empowering individuals and businesses with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
In support of USAID-funded Afghanistan – Export-Oriented Business Activity (ACEBA) project, KAARGAH created an Export Acceleration Guide for Afghan SMEs looking to penetrate international markets. KAARGAH developed a comprehensive series of guidebooks that help exporters understand export strategies, boost sales, craft marketing strategies for foreign buyers, and navigate the procedures of Afghan customs. The material is organized into four distinct guidebooks, each focusing on different aspects of the export process.
Supported the USAID-funded Afghanistan Value Chain – Livestock project by providing a suite of services aimed at empowering SMEs in the livestock sector. Our approach involves working closely with these SMEs to assess their growth potential and then tailoring our support to their specific needs. This support includes training, tools, and consulting services, along with practical assistance in finance, operations, marketing, and business planning, all designed to help them realize significant growth in their business. Our initial steps include conducting detailed interviews with company officials and undertaking field visits to rural project sites to gain a comprehensive understanding of each SME’s unique challenges and opportunities.
KAARGAH was engaged by the development agency DAI to implement the Dastyar Entrepreneurship Toolkit across Afghanistan as part of the USAID-funded Women in Economy project. Initially, KAARGAH developed a curriculum for a Training of Trainers (ToT) program and subsequently trained and certified Dastyar trainers. These trainers then delivered the Dastyar Toolkit in major economic centers throughout Afghanistan. The training program was executed over three months in seven provinces, educating 450 SME owners and over 800 SME staff members.

KAARGAH supported the development agency DAI as part of USAID’s Women in Economy (WIE) project to enhance the capabilities of women-owned micro-enterprises in Maimana City of Faryab province. KAARGAH conducted a thorough assessment of over 80 micro-enterprises, selecting 20 that most needed formal business training to boost sales, increase employment, and support local economic growth in their districts. The selected participants represented various districts of Faryab province.
